For the third time this year inmates have escaped from the Miller County jail.

“This is nightmare on East Street,” said Sheriff Linda Rambo. “We knew we had problems and we’d asked for some help, but we didn’t get it.”

Six inmates from a maximum-security pod in the jail managed to make it out of a second-floor window Tuesday night and into the “yard” below. Five of them made it over the fence. As of Wednesday evening, three of them had been captured and two—Bennie Ray Johnson, 23, and Anthony Michael Brown, 30—remained at large.
