Nursing department proposes program

To help boost the low number of nursing teachers and administrators in the region, Texas A&M University-Texarkana will get a shot in the arm with a proposed master’s degree program.

“There is a tremendous shortage for nurse educators,” said Dr. Josephine Kahler, dean, TAMU-T College of Health and Behavioral Sciences. “When you don’t have the educators, you cannot enroll qualified students who are on the waiting list at many schools.”
