Texarkana, Ark., Fire Department spent most of Saturday afternoon quelling the flames of a house fire at 7244 South Valley Road.

“The house was pretty heavily involved with heavy smoke on the horizon as we came in,” Battalion Chief Robert Nix said at the scene.

The homeowners, Ray and Patty Wheelington, were not home at the time of the blaze, and no one was injured the the fire, said Fire Marshal Stephen Johnson.
