A 21-year-old Springhill, La., man is lucky to be alive after he was struck by lightning during a storm Sunday afternoon near Simms, Texas.

Jordan Chreene was working on an oil rig about 5 p.m. Sunday during the storm when lightning struck the oil derrick.

“It was raining and lightning real close,” said Chreene from his Springhill home Monday. “Everybody said it started to feel like tickling, but I’m not ticklish.”

Recovering from a lightning strike is tough and going back to work may be tougher.
