The pets of the week are Bailey, a male cat who loves to play and does well with kids, and Ed, a male beagle about 2 years old. Bailey is in cage C38 and Ed is in cage S4.

The Texarkana Animal Shelter has 65 dogs, 25 puppies, 32 cats and 45 kittens for adoption, said a shelter official. There were 23 adoptions in the past week.
