A Texarkana, Ark., man received a 20-year prison sentence Wednesday after pleading guilty to sexual misconduct with his granddaughters.

A jury was picked Monday in Miller County to decide the fate of the 57-year-old, but the man opted to enter a guilty plea rather than face the possibility of four life sentences a jury could have assessed him if he was convicted.

The case was handled by Deputy Prosecutor Stephanie Black.
