Residents near Nash to get city water

BAbout 100 people living just outside Nash could soon be getting city water for the first time.

During their regular monthly meeting Monday, the Nash City Council agreed to spend $115,143 for water line extension materials, which will be reimbursed by the state’s Small Town Environmental Program grant money.

The money will be used to buy at least 16 fire hydrants, water pipeline and other water materials, which will be used to extend a water line down Old Boston Road west to Farm-To-Market Road 2148. The pipeline will then come back along Brower Lane and connect back t...
