The community helps its residents in financial need throughout the year. “It’s something we just do,” said Deputy Municipal Clerk Donna Gallaher, one of the organizers. But the spirit that causes them to partake in dancing and gambling is taking care of each other during a personal crisis. Saturday will be Joe Sutton Day in the city park and at the fire station. The event will be a fund-raiser for the former truck driver. Sutton is diagnosed with congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation and morbid obesity.
