The City of Wake Village has responded to a civil lawsuit filed against it by former Wake Village Police Chief Tony Estes in reference to his April 9 termination.

The lawsuit, filed June 27, claims Estes was terminated because he “contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation to report the misappropriation of federal funds by Mayor (Mike) Huddleston and had assisted in the FBI’s investigation of such.” The lawsuit further claims Estes was fired in violation of the Texas Whistle Blower Statute.
