Dr. David Fitts, superintendent of the Pewitt Consolidated Independent School District, is the Region 8 Superintendent of the Year.

Fitts will be the Region 8 representative for the Texas Association of School Boards Texas Superintendent of the Year Award.

He is beginning his fifth year as superintendent of Pewitt CISD. Before coming to Pewitt CISD as superintendent, he served for several years as the high school principal of Ore City Independent School District.

Pewitt CISD is located in Omaha, Texas.
