Hospital participates in exchange program
 Staff photo by Tanner Spendley Georgina Dean recently crossed the pond from England to Texarkana to participate in the Healthcare Financial Managers Association US/UK Exchange program. Dean has been spending time with her American counterpart Shawn Barnett, CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System vice-president and CFO, learning the U.S. health system. Next year Barnett will be in Dean’s shoes studying the English Health system. Dean, an associate director of contracting and business development for a hospital in Birmingham, England, arrived in Texarkana Saturday as part of the Healthcare Financial Managers Association US/UK Exchange program. Shawn Barnett, CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System vice-president and CFO, recently hosted his English counterpart to see how things run at St. Michael so both could learn the differences in health care delivery between two countries.
