Coming ashore Wednesday morning near the southern tip of Texas, Hurricane Dolly won’t have much effect on local weather.

Dolly will make already hot temperatures edge a little higher for the next several days but won’t send much-needed showers this direction.

“It does indirectly affect our weather. Highs will be near 100 for the next several days,” said C.S. Ross, hydrologist for the National Weather Service out of Shreveport, La.
