A forgotten cell phone left two would-be burglars on the hook for what could be a long time, according to Bowie County Sherrif’s deputies.

The pair allegedly made their escape from deputies responding to a call of a home burglary in progress—but there was a hang-up. One left his cell phone behind.

They returned to the scene of the crime, and the deputies rang them up.

Ricky Crawford, 22, was arrested along with a 16-year-old male who had also been inside the house, said Bowie County Chief Deputy Larry Parker.
