The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope will conduct the third annual “Watermelon Idol” talent competition during the upcoming 32nd annual Hope Watermelon Festival Aug. 7-10.

The preliminary competition begins at 6 p.m. Aug. 7 in the Coliseum. The winners will compete in the finals scheduled at 3 p.m. Aug. 10 on the BancorpSouth stage. The deadline for entries is 5:30 p.m. Aug. 7. The festival opens at noon the same day.
