With water becoming a fast-growing issue statewide, the Texas Water Development Board conducted a three-hour information and public input session Monday at Texarkana College.

The board outlined a plan that calls for Northeast Texas to help the Dallas-Fort Worth area with potential water supply shortages during the next 50 years.

Board members appeared before a state-sanctioned Study Commission on Region C Water Supply, representing two of the state’s 16 regional water districts.
