Woman, 20, jailed on release violation, released again

A woman accused of helping two Miller County jail inmates when they escaped through a hole in the roof in February appeared before a federal magistrate judge Monday.

Kawanda Johnson, 20, was indicted by federal authorities in the Eastern District of Texas on June 3. She is accused of giving law enforcement a false statement and of hiding Jason Thompson and Charley Langston after their escape from the Miller County jail Feb. 19.
