Texas Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and Texarkana native son Ross Perot were among the speakers Tuesday during the dedication ceremony of the Texas A&M University-Texarkana Science & Technology Building.

In a humorous moment before his speech, Perot told the crowd he’d been given strict orders to limit his speech to four minutes. He placed a timer on the podium before focusing on the importance of TAMU-T’s science and technology program to the area and beyond.
