Fate was bizarre Wednesday morning at the 12-mile marker of Interstate 30 in Miller County.

On the north side of the roadway, next to the westbound lanes of traffic, it was a tragedy with a mother and daughter being killed when a tire on their vehicle blew out.

Almost directly across from the wreck, on the south side of the interstate, it was close to a miracle. A good Samaritan truck driver, who stopped to help direct traffic at the scene of the fatal accident, survived being run over by a tractor-trailer rig.
