The Stompers Drumline will see a dream realized later this week when about 20 of its members make their way into the nation’s capital.

The group left from Faith Love & Hope Wednesday afternoon on a charter bus bound for Washington, D.C. The trip is once-in-a-lifetime chance for some of the kids.

“A lot of these kids have never been out of the state of Arkansas,” said Gary Turner, drumline director.

Twelve-year-old Kenneth Houff, a drumline captain, was brimming with excitement as he and the other children waited for the bus to arrive.
