The Fouke City Council voted unanimously Thursday to support the fire chief and rejected his resignation.

Fouke Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Charles Bennett had resigned because of a complaint about him having a campaign sign propped against his truck during the May 20 Democratic Primary.

Bennett said he was questioned about the political activity by the Miller County Rural Volunteer Fire Department Board of Governors.
