The pets of the week are a black and white male husky in cage D9 and a white and orange cat in cage C37.

The Texarkana Animal Shelter has 57 dogs, 38 cats and 26 kittens for adoption, said a shelter official. There were 47 adoptions in the past week.

The fee to adopt dogs is $40. Cats can be adopted $20 each. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the shelter, 203 Harrison St. All animals have been wormed and received their seven-in-one shots. For more information, call the shelter at 870-773-6388.
