The Texarkana, Ark., School District Board of Directors approved the purchase of 90 computers for $74,610 during its meeting Tuesday night.

The district’s magnet grant from the U.S. Department of Education will be used to pay for 30 of them. The other 60 will be paid for by funds from Arkansas High School’s vocational campus.

The computers will be purchased from ByteSpeed Computers of Moorhead, Minn.

Business manager Kathy Hudson said ByteSpeed had the lowest per price computer bid and the district knew about its past performance.
