The local chapter of the women’s service-oriented organization, The Relief Society, recently donated more than 100 handmade blankets to Wadley Regional Medical Center for its maternal child department and for nursing home patients receiving care at the hospital.

The society is an organization of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

“Many sisters have worked very hard in sewing the blankets,” said Melba Hess, president of the Texarkana Relief Society. “We are an organization of good works and we are happy to donate to the local community.”
