The pets of the week are a tri-colored female cat surrendered by her owners because they could no longer care for her, and Dixie, a Boston terrier mix female in cage D23. Dixie is 7 months old and weighs 15 pounds.

The Texarkana Animal Shelter has 61 dogs, six puppies, 35 cats and 47 kittens for adoption, said a shelter official. There were 23 adoptions in the past week.
