A Texarkana woman has received a portion of a $2 million settlement from Rotech Healthcare Inc.

Sheila Bell-Messier of Texarkana, Texas, received 27 percent, or $540,000, of the settlement, which stemmed from civil charges that Rotech engaged in false or fraudulent conduct in billing Medicare for durable medical equipment, according to information from Berg and Androphy, the Houston office of the law firm that represented Bell-Messier.
