A bicycle accident sent an 11-year-old Lockesburg, Ark., girl to the hospital with an injury Tuesday evening, authorities said.

Stormy Grubbs was riding her bicycle with her brother about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when she lost control and wrecked, said Lockesburg Fire Chief Roger Ridley. The end of the handlebars punctured the girl’s leg at the juncture of her hip. The puncture wound was about the size of a silver dollar and the girl was losing blood, he said.
