Candidate once served probation for soliciting a prostituteDistrict judge contender says he was wrongfully accused
A lawyer running for a district judge seat that serves Red River and Lamar counties served a term of probation for soliciting a prostitute, according to court documents.
Eric Clifford was arrested Feb. 16, 1995, after offering an undercover officer with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office $150 in exchange for sex, court documents state. Clifford committed the offense in Austin. At the time, Clifford was serving as the mayor of Paris, Texas.
