The tenacity of north Howard County residents in Arkansas, who never gave up on a water project, were recently rewarded with a $2.1 million federal grant and a $2.5 million loan to construct it.

Howard County was recently awarded a $2,120,446 Rural Development grant and a $2,505,000 loan from the United States Department of Agriculture, U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark.

The funds will be used to construct lines, tanks, and a pump station to improve the water treatment plant and supply water to the residential and agricultural users in the north portion of Howard County.
