De Queen hosting AARP-sponsored driver course

A driver safety course sponsored by AARP will be Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the De Queen, Ark., Senior Citizens Center.

The driver safety program is sponsored by the senior citizens center and the Farmers Insurance Group of Mena.

AARP offers the refresher course for motorists 50 and older. The class stresses avoiding driving hazards for older drivers, said Grant Groves, a spokesman for the De Queen chapter of AARP.
