Texarkana, Texas, soon will have a new way for its residents to participate in city operations, as officials will form a Blue Ribbon Committee to help prioritize and plan future projects.

The city is looking at millions of dollars in public works improvements, and wants residents to be involved in choosing when and where that work is done.

“The council is dealing with the most immediate needs in fiscal year 2009, but that leaves well over $150 million in needs that face us in the future,” said City Manager Larry Sullivan.
