The pets of the week are a male gray and white cat with brown stripes that was surrendered by his owner and a male Airedale terrier/border collie mix named Boy.

The Texarkana Animal Shelter has 61 dogs and 70 cats for adoption, said a shelter official.

The fee to adopt dogs is $40. Cats can be adopted $20 each. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the shelter, 203 Harrison St. All animals have been wormed and received their seven-in-one shots. For more information, call the shelter at 870-773-6388.
