Florist pleads not guilty in theft charge

A local florist entered pleas of not guilty to hot check and theft allegations before a Bowie County district judge Tuesday afternoon.

“Scooter, you understand you’re charged with felony theft and with misapplication of fiduciary property,” said 202nd District Judge Leon F. Pesek Jr. at David “Scooter” Raney’s arraignment.

Raney’s defense attorney, Butch Dunbar of Texarkana, told Pesek Raney was pleading not guilty to each charge.
