Restitution holds up guilty plea

A Texarkana man who allegedly stole from his mother appeared before a Bowie County district judge Tuesday afternoon for a pretrial hearing.

Bruce George Cannedy, 57, was scheduled to plead guilty Tuesday to theft from an elderly individual.

But 202nd District Judge Leon F. Pesek Jr. scheduled Cannedy to return to court Sept. 29 because he was unable to make restitution as agreed.
