The Wake Village City Council held its second and final public hearing Tuesday to get input on the city’s property tax rate, which is now just under 37 cents per $100 valuation.

Last week, Wake Village Mayor Mike Huddleston recommended the city keep its current tax rate, which has not changed since 1994.

During the Tuesday meeting, Huddleston said the current tax rate would generate $628,155 in revenue for the city. Of this amount, $21,184 will come from new homes built, new businesses opening up and higher appraised values on some existing homes.
