Clinton Birthplace Foundation: Clinton’s foundation gains new leader

Ermer Pondexter says economic troubles have hit former president’s birthplace, hopes to see it protected as a historic site

The life and legacy of former President Bill Clinton is priority to Ermer Pondexter of Texarkana, Ark., who was recently named vice president of the Clinton Birthplace Foundation in Hope.

She said she looks forward to the day the National Park Service adopts the land and Clinton’s birthplace will forever be protected. But currently, the economy seems to be making the transition arduous.
