Liberty-Eylau Middle School was one of 320 schools nationwide to be named a No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education.

The award, one of the most prestigious education awards in America, distinguishes and honors schools for helping students achieve at very high levels and for making significant progress in closing the achievement gap, according to department officials.

In Texas, 18 elementaries, three middle schools and five public high schools are Blue Ribbon winners this year.
