A man who turned himself in to police after touching his 10-year-old stepdaughter inappropriately in 2004 wants a Bowie County jury to give him probation.

The man’s name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

“The next thing I knew, I was touching her in her pants. The first thought I had was ‘what the hell am I doing?’” the defendant testified Wednesday during his trial. “I told her it was wrong and that I was sorry. I didn’t know what to do. I was confused, scared.”
