A Hempstead County reserve deputy accused of raping a 39-year-old woman near Millwood Lake is scheduled to go on trial Oct. 27 in the Hempstead County Courthouse in Hope, Ark.

Jeffrey L. Mayle, 47, of Hope is charged with rape, kidnapping and sexual assault in the second degree. The pre-trial date for Mayle is Sept. 30, with the trial set for Oct. 27 with Circuit Judge Duncan Culpepper presiding.

The incident allegedly occurred late May 17 and into the early morning hours of May 18.
