A new $336,000 piece of equipment graced the Wake Village Volunteer Fire Department on Monday—a 2008 Pierce FMC model fire truck.

The truck replaces a 1982 model the city intends to donate to the Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department. The fire truck, which came from Sarasota, Fla., arrived in Wake Village shortly before the Wake Village City Council meeting Monday.

“We decided to upgrade with another Class A pumper,” said Wake Village Assistant Fire Chief James Guyton.
