Thanks to a very early confirmed case of the flu, the Texarkana Bowie County Family Health Center will be offering the flu vaccine earlier than usual. Flu shots will be available for $15 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Flu shots are covered by Medicare Part B.

“It takes two or three weeks for the flu vaccine to give full protection, so it’s wise to go ahead and get it started,” said Beverly Coleman, director of the general clinic at the Texarkana Bowie County Family Health Center. “Even the CDC recommends you give them as soon as you get them.”
