Sunset Missionary Baptist Church will ordain six deacons during its 6 p.m. service Sunday.

The church takes its instruction on who to appoint as deacons from 1 Timothy 3:8-11, which says: “Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. And let these first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.”

Those being ordained are Jereme Sheffield, Bill Adams, Demery Stevens, David Burns, Donald Williams and Anthony Davis.
