The widow of a Red River County commissioner has been arrested as a conspirator in an alleged plot to kill him.

Alton Peek was feeding cows in his pasture on the morning of Nov. 11, 1996, in the Boxelder community of Red River County when he was shot three times in the chest with a .38 caliber revolver, authorities said.
