The Board of Directors meeting in Texarkana, Ark., will begin Monday with an executive session and may end with a new board member.

The Ward 5 seat is vacant following the resignation of Patsy Cornelius. About half a dozen people have expressed interest in the position. The board will review qualifications and possibly appoint a replacement this week.

In other business, the board is expected to levy the 2008 tax rate. Finance Director Rebecca Harris said the levy is a standard motion of the city and property tax rates are not increasing.
