NEW BOSTON, Texas—Bowie County Commissioners would like to keep the same tax rate for next fiscal year at 31 cents per $100 valuation to help pay for a proposed $28.7 million operating budget.

Commissioners will meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 22 to accept the county’s current real property tax rate and plan to hold a public hearing during that meeting on the county’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2008-09.
