Former Bowie County District Attorney and Texarkana trial lawyer Lynn Cooksey will be remembered during a 10 a.m. service today at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

Cooksey, who died Sunday, was 69.

With a career spanning 40 years, Cooksey rose to become a noted local attorney. Colleagues recall his acumen as a legal professional and his keen wit.

“Lynn was a good DA and was a very talented trial lawyer,” said Texarkana attorney Nick Patton. “He was really kind of a delightful guy. He always had a smile on his face.”
