Tropical storm Ike renders TC radio station silent
Tropical Storm Ike left its mark on Texarkana College’s KTXK-Radio over the weekend, resulting in downed power poles and lines near the station’s 100,000-watt transmitter.
“We haven’t had power since Saturday at about 8 p.m.,” said Steve Mitchell, KTXK 91.5 general manager. “We apologize to our listeners.” Mitchell said the transmitter is on the college’s property on Farm to Market Road 991, adjacent to Red River Army Depot.
