Tropical storm Ike renders TC radio station silent

Tropical Storm Ike left its mark on Texarkana College’s KTXK-Radio over the weekend, resulting in downed power poles and lines near the station’s 100,000-watt transmitter.

“We haven’t had power since Saturday at about 8 p.m.,” said Steve Mitchell, KTXK 91.5 general manager. “We apologize to our listeners.”
