Liberty-Eylau Independent School District’s voters go to the polls Saturday to decide the fate of an increase in teachers’ salaries.

The current school tax rate in L-E is 1.226950 per $100 valuation and officials are hoping voters approve an increase to 1.30 per $100 valuation. It is a proposed 7-cent increase in real property taxes.

A recap of early voting levels will appear in Friday’s issue of the Gazette.

Initially the school district was set to have the election on Sept. 27. The reason for the date change is unclear.
