University of Arkansas Chancellor Dr. David Gearhart visited Texarkana Wednesday to speak with alumni and community members about their thoughts as the school approaches its 150th anniversary.

“We are doing a listening tour of Arkansas communities, including Hot Springs, Harrison, Fort Smith and Texarkana. Then we are going outside the state,” Gearhart said.

Gearhart, who grew up in Fayetteville, Ark., became chancellor of UA on July 1 following a 10-year stint as vice chancellor for university advancement.
