The State Bar of Texas has filed a complaint against local attorney Don Cooksey in a Bowie County District Court.

The suit, filed Monday by the Commission for Lawyer Discipline, accuses Cooksey of misconduct in a civil case in 2007.

The action is in reference to a client, Tracy McRaven, who paid Cooksey $1,500 to act as an attorney in an Arkansas child support case in November of 2006, the complaint said. Cooksey filed a legal document on his client’s behalf and the case was set for a hearing.
