Bowie County commissioners would like to keep the same tax rate for next fiscal year as the county had this year and are likely to do just that.

Commissioners will meet at 10 a.m. today at the Bowie County Courthouse in New Boston to accept the county’s current real property tax rate, which is 31 cents per $100 valuation, and plan to hold a public hearing on the county’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2008-09.
